No. 15312506W R-II M Subbu was born on 30 August 1974 in Mulandiram in district Tiruvannamalai Tamil Nadu. He joined NSG on 05 October 1998. On 26 March, 1999, M Subbu of 52 SAG, NSG was tasked to carry out combing operation in village Loveletta in Nashnair valley, Distt. Doda (J&K). When the column was de-inducting through village Khel, the leading elements encountered with an IED laid by the terrorists. R-II M Subbu, who had volunteered for leading the column, showed great presence of mind and immediately warned the Group regarding the presence of IED. He in the process could not save himself from the blast and made supreme sacrifice as a conspicuous act of bravery, unparalleled dedication to the mission during Ops Vijay (Ops Rakshak-III) on 26 Mar 1999. He was survived by Father Sh K S Murugesan and mother Smt Indirani.
