1.       EYE  CHECK-UP CAMP 12/04/2014:

     An  Eye camp  was organized  by Composite Hospital, Manesar  in association with Arunodaya  Deseret Eye Hospital ADEH, Sector  55, Gurgaon under the aegis of NWYA  on  12th April, 2014.  About 200 persons came for the eye check-up of which 59 cases were detected that required treatment.

   
     

2.       OBSERVANCE OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION FOR WOMEN’S HEALTH 28TH MAY 2014

     International Day of Action for Women’s Health was observed on 28th May 2014 by organising an informative talk on monsoon related diseases and womens health issues. The gathering was excellently addressed by Dr. Kapil Yadav, Asst Professor of AIIMS and gynaecologists, Dr.Meena Sehgal and Dr. Deepika Sood of Park Hospital, Gurgaon. This was followed by a routine check up of women by the same gynaecologists. A book “Where there is no Doctor”  by Voluntary Health Association of India VHAI was also distributed amongst the families.

   
     

 3.     Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food:  

          A book on nutritious recipes and home-made remedies namely “Krishank” was released on 20th Oct 2014 during NSG Raising Day Barakhana. The book is compilation of nutritious recipes contributed by NWYA members for all ages. It includes Healthy Tiffin, Soups and Salads, Desserts, Main Course etc. as its contents. Besides, the book also elucidates home-made remedies for various diseases. This edition is in English. However, the Hindi version is also available in 5 smaller volumes. These books are available in the NWYA shop for sale.

   

4.     MEDICAL CAMP FOR CHILDREN

         A health check-up camp especially for children between 5-12 years of age was organized under the aegis of NWYA by Composite Hospital, NSG in association with specialists from Park Hospital Gurgaon and Max Hospital, Delhi.

         Dr Ajay Mehta, Senior Consultant Pediatrics, Park Hospital and addressed the parents and explained the important aspects relating to breast feeding, handling of new born, myths and bed wetting. Dr Shashi Mathur, Diet Consultant, Park Hospital explained the important issues related to meal and balanced diet. Dr Reema Das, Ophthalmologist and Mrs Prachi Binjola, clinical nutritionist from Max Hospital also examined children and advised the parents.

          Total 202 children were medically examined

   
     

 

5.     OBSERVANCE OF “NATIONAL DEWORMING DAY” FOR CHILDREN 

         “National Deworming Daywas observed  from 11th – 14th Feb 2015 under the ageis of NWYA. Under this event, Composite Hospital, Manesar distributed deworming tablets for children between 6-19 years of age of NSG Primary School, KV Manesar and children of construction workers on campus & neighboring villages. Total 1813 children were given tablets. 

 

   
     

6.     HEART CHECK UP AND AWARENESS CAMP

        A “Heart Check Up Camp” was organized on Monday at Zorawar Hall and Composite Hospital,  in association with Paras Hospital, Gurgaon. Dr. Tapan Ghosh, Director & HOD Cardiology Paras Hospital  gave a presentation for prevention of heart diseases particularly among women. 100 personnel including male were examined and treated by Dr. Awanindra Kumar Singh, Cardiologist &  Dr. Divyanshi, Dietician advised the patients about healthy diet to prevent heart diseases. In addition, routine investigation as well as Random Blood Sugar and ECG were carried out by technicians of Paras Hospital for the required personnel.  A few cases of high BP was detected.

   
     

7.     CANCER AWARENESS CAMP FOR LADIES

       A “Cancer Awareness Camp for Ladies” was organised on 27th March 2015 at Manesar in association with Saket City Hospital New Delhi. Camp was inaugurated by DirectorMedical NSG in the presence of the Executive and Working committee  members  of  NWYA  and officials of various units of NSG Garrison. During the camp, Dr. Usha M Kumar, Gynaecologist/Cancer SpecialistLaparoscopic Surgeon, Saket City Hospital, New Delhi  delivered a presentation on awareness and prevention of Cancers particularly Cervical and Breast Cancer among women.   A  total no. of 08 female patients were examined.
